How to Block Contacts on iPhone: A Step-by-Step Guide

Is there a way to block a number that’s not in my contacts?

Yes, you can easily block a number on your iPhone even if it’s not saved in your contacts. The process is straightforward and involves using either the Phone app or the Messages app.

To block a number from the Phone app, go to your recent calls. Tap the “i” icon (information icon) next to the unknown number you want to block. Scroll down to the bottom of the contact card that appears, and you’ll find the “Block this Caller” option. Tap it and confirm your choice to block the number. From then on, calls and texts from that number will no longer reach you.

Alternatively, if the unknown number has sent you a text message, you can block it directly from the Messages app. Open the conversation with the number, tap on the number at the top of the screen, and then tap on “info.” On the next screen, tap on “info” again. Scroll down to the bottom and select “Block this Caller.” Confirm your selection, and the number will be blocked from contacting you via calls or messages.
